What we collect and what we do with it

Last updated 8 September 2026

Anniversary Leaderboard is run by Dos Nombres LLC. It is a small app and this is a short policy. To run it we hold your account, the gifts and results you enter, and anonymous analytics about how the site is used. We do not sell any of it and we do not advertise.

Your account

You sign in with Google or with a magic link sent to your email address. Either way we store your email address, the name your provider gives us, your profile photo if there is one, and a record of which provider you used. We never ask for or store a password.

Signing in creates a session. Its cookie is what keeps you logged in, and alongside it we keep the IP address and browser the session was created from, so a session can be told apart from someone else using your account.

What you put in

The app exists to hold what you enter: your couple name, your wedding date, the display name each partner picks, and for every anniversary the gift title, description, and photos you upload, plus which of you the two of you called the winner of that year. It is yours — treat what you write the way you would treat anything written down, because your partner can read it.

A photo is resized and re-encoded in your browser before it is sent, so the camera data the file carried — including where the picture was taken — never leaves your device. What we store is the re-encoded copy. Photos follow the board they belong to: while it is private only the two of you can load them, and turning the board private again takes effect straight away.

Public leaderboard pages

A couple's board is private until one of you turns it public. Turning it public puts your couple name, both display names, your anniversary years, your gift titles and descriptions, and your yearly results on a page at a guessable web address that anyone can open and search engines can index. Your email addresses are never shown. Turning it back off removes the page, but we cannot pull back a copy someone else already saved or a search engine already cached.

Email we send

We send sign-in links, partner invites, and — if someone follows a public board — the updates they asked for. Invites keep the address they went to, who sent it, and when, including after the invite is cancelled, so there is a record of who was asked to join. Followers give us only an email address and get an unsubscribe link in every message. Unsubscribing deletes the record.

We do not send marketing email and we do not add you to a list you did not ask for.

Analytics

We use PostHog to count visits and see which parts of the app get used. It records the page you are on, roughly where in the world you are, your browser and device type, how you arrived, and — once you are signed in — that those events belong to your account. We use it to decide what to fix and what to build. We do not run advertising and we do not connect it to any advertising network.

PostHog sets a cookie so it can tell a returning visit from a new one. If you block the script the app still works — nothing in it depends on analytics.

Who else sees it

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. It reaches these companies only because they run part of the app:

  • Cloudflare — hosts the app, stores the database, and keeps standard server logs
  • Google — only if you choose Google sign-in, and only to confirm who you are
  • Resend — carries the email we send you
  • PostHog — the analytics described above

Each of them holds it under its own privacy policy and only for what we use them for. We would also disclose information if the law required it, which has not happened.

How long we keep things

  • Your account and your board — until you ask us to delete them. This is a record you are meant to keep for years, so we do not expire it.
  • Sessions — until they expire or you sign out.
  • Sign-in links and invites — the links stop working after a short window; the invite record stays with the couple.
  • Analytics — retained by PostHog on a rolling basis.

Asking us to delete something

Write to info@dosnombre.com from the address on your account and tell us what you want. You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We will do it within 30 days.

Deleting your account deletes your membership, your gifts, and your results. If your partner is still using the board, the years you both filled in stop making sense without your half — tell us if you want the whole couple removed rather than just you, and we will do that instead.

Children

This app is for married couples and is not for children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you think we have, write to us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy we will change the date at the top. If the change is significant we will email the address on your account.
